Data controller

  • Controller: Javier Del Valle Iribas
  • Spanish tax ID: 29120521Z
  • Address: Avenida Pablo Gargallo 27, 50003 Zaragoza, Spain
  • Contact: info@solvemis.com

As the controller is established in Spain, this policy follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for every visitor, wherever they are.

The short version

The calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type — weight, height, salary — are never sent to a server, never stored, and never leave your device. Solvemis does not build profiles, does not sell data and makes no automated decisions about you.

The only exception is optional: if you ask the sinking fund calculator or the 50/30/20 budget calculator to remember your entries, they stay in your browser, on your device (explained below).

Each case where some data is involved is explained below, with its purpose, its legal basis and how long it is kept.

Search logging

When you use the search box on the home page and press Enter, exactly this is recorded:

  • The search term, lowercased and trimmed.
  • The language version of the site you are on.
  • The country, as resolved by Cloudflare’s network.
  • The date, without the time.

Nothing else. Specifically: your IP address is not stored, your browser and operating system are not read, and no cookies or session identifiers are used. If what you type looks like an email address or a long run of digits, the request is discarded entirely and nothing is recorded.

Because no direct or indirect identifier is retained, two searches cannot be told apart and none can be attributed to a person: this is anonymous data, not personal data. There is one purpose: finding out which tools people look for that do not exist yet.

  • Retention: the records live in Cloudflare’s logging system and are deleted automatically after 7 days at most.

Running and securing the site

The site is served from Cloudflare’s network, which acts as a data processor: it handles the IP address and technical details of each request only to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks and abuse, under the data processing agreement it offers its customers.

To tell people apart from bots, Cloudflare also runs a small security check in your browser and may store a technical cookie (cf_clearance). It is needed to protect the service and is not used for advertising or to track you across other sites, which is why it does not require your consent.

  • Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Retention: Cloudflare’s technical data is short-lived and deleted automatically.

Tools inside other sites

If you see a Solvemis tool inside another site, what happens inside the calculator follows this policy; the rest of that site follows its own. Inside, there are no ads and no cookies of our own; Cloudflare’s technical cookie (cf_clearance) may appear just as it does on this site.

Speed test

If you use the speed test, your browser downloads and uploads test data directly to Cloudflare’s measurement servers (speed.cloudflare.com), which handle those requests under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy. The test only starts when you press the button; results are calculated in your browser, and Solvemis neither receives nor stores them.

What Is My IP

This tool shows you your IP address and what Cloudflare associates with your connection (provider, approximate location, data center). That information is shown only to you: Solvemis neither stores nor logs it. To tell your IPv4 from your IPv6, your browser also queries Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 service, which handles those requests under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy.

  • Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing the tool you ask for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Retention: none; the data only exists while the response is being prepared.

Has My Password Been Leaked?

When you press “Send to Have I Been Pwned”, your browser sends that service (api.pwnedpasswords.com, run by Troy Hunt) only the first 5 characters of the password’s SHA-1 fingerprint; as with any connection, the service sees your IP address and handles the request under its own privacy policy. The password and the rest of the fingerprint never leave your device, and Solvemis receives nothing. This page has no ads and no third-party code: we removed them to reduce your risk.

Entries you choose to remember

In the sinking fund calculator you can check “Remember my bills in this browser”. Only then are your list of bills and its settings saved in your browser’s local storage, on your device: they are not sent to any server and Solvemis cannot see them. In the 50/30/20 budget calculator, the “Remember my expenses in this browser” box does the same with your income and expenses. They are deleted when you uncheck the box, press “Reset” or clear this site’s data in your browser. This is storage you ask for to use a feature you request, not a tracking cookie.

Advertising

When the site shows Google AdSense ads, Google and its partners will use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads and, if you agree, personalize them. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent notice before any ad loads, where ads can be accepted or declined.

  • Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time from the same notice or in your Google account’s ad settings.
  • Retention: as set by Google for its cookies, described in its privacy policy.

Some pages may link to retailers, and this site earns a commission if you buy through them. They carry rel="sponsored" and always appear with the required disclosure. The price you pay is the same either way. Following one takes you off Solvemis, and the retailer’s privacy policy applies from that point on.

If you email us or support the project

If you write to info@solvemis.com, your email address and whatever you include in the message are used only to reply to you. Email is hosted by Hostinger, which acts as a data processor.

  • Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering your message (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Retention: as long as needed to reply and, after that, for the limitation period of any possible claims.

The “Buy me a coffee” link takes you to Buy Me a Coffee, an external platform that handles the payment as an independent controller under its own privacy policy: Solvemis never sees your card details and only receives what the platform shares with creators, such as your name, your message and, where applicable, your email address.

  • Legal basis: compliance with tax obligations (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)) and legitimate interest in managing and acknowledging support (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Retention: the periods required by tax law.

Providers and international transfers

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): hosting, delivery and security of the site. Processor.
  • Hostinger: email. Processor.
  • Buy Me a Coffee: payments from people who choose to support the project. Independent controller.
  • Google (United States): advertising, only when active.

When any of them processes data outside the European Economic Area, it does so with the safeguards the GDPR requires: the adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Cloudflare and Google are certified, or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

To exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction or portability, or to withdraw any consent you have given, write to info@solvemis.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or the supervisory authority where you live.

One practical limitation is worth stating plainly: because the search log holds nothing that can be tied to you, there is no technical way to locate “your” records in order to show or delete them. That impossibility is a direct result of not collecting identifiers in the first place — which is exactly what protects your privacy here.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date on this page will show it. Significant changes will also be flagged visibly on the site.
